Idol Later, Improv NOW (And Lots Of It)

Hey, if you’re in Richmond, and you’ve ever been curious about my more-than-passing interest in improv, this weekend is your chance… and the weekend starts right now…

Tonight

At CSz Improv Theatre (8906-H W. Broad) – ComedySportz’ minor-league Team Eight31 plays at 7:45pm (family-friendly, $5)

At The Shop (Hull & 4th St) – the Richmond Comedy Coalition presents CLASS ACTION*, a showcase for their four Winter 2013 improv classes at 8pm (not-always-family-friendly, FREE)

Tomorrow

At CSz – two shows: ComedySportz’ brand of competitive team improv at 8pm (family-friendly, $12); Overtime Improv* does medium and long-form at 10:15pm (not-so-family-friendly, $5)

At HATTheatre (Westbriar off Patterson, far West End) – West End Comedy’s Good Friday show* at 7:30pm (family-friendly, $7)

Saturday

At Balliceaux (203 N. Lombardy) – RCC’s BATTLEDECKS, as contestants have to provide entertaining narration for (possibly bizarre) Powerpoint presentations they’ve never seen, with an iPad for the winner.  Audience members may be called upon to play as well, so get there early for an 8:30pm start (probably not family-friendly, $5)

at HATTheatre – West End’s Easter Funny Show at 7:30pm (not family-friendly, $7)

at CSz – two ComedySportz shows* (with a ringer visiting performer from CSzDC, Rachel Garmon, who used to perform regularly here before decamping to NoVA) at 7 and 9:30pm (family-friendly, $12 each)

*Asterisks indicate where you’ll see me.  So say hi.

Idol’s results show will be thoroughly snarked at after I get back from CLASS ACTION.  Until then…
