Orwellian football

In a move that really makes no sense at all – even given the limitations of the Arthur Ashe Center – the indoor football Richmond Revolution of the IFL are playing their 2011 season outdoors.

They’re using one of the fields at the SportsQuest East Campus.

Now while I understand that the Ashe Center wasn’t optimum – indoor football is designed, and teams are assembled, for indoor play.  Adding the elements to indoor football changes the game.  It’s not indoor football.  It’s just football on a short field.

Next thing you know, someone will decide to run auto races indoors… I mean, really…
