Fox rolled out its 2010-11 schedule today. And guess what… they did something so stunning that I can’t believe I’m typing this.
The results show will be 30 minutes long next season*.
Of course, that’s *subject to change.
As of now, AI10 is scheduled as follows, starting in January 2011:
- Tuesdays 8:00-9:30 pm (ET) – performance show
- Wednesdays 8:3o-9:00 pm – results show
Naturally, this doesn’t prevent them from supersizing selected shows, or going back to a 60-minute results show if the lead-in sitcom (“Raising Hope”) fails.
If this means that we’re done with the torturously long results shows for most weeks… this is good news, and it’s a sign that they’re serious about making AI10 more viewer-friendly.
Of course, we still have one more 60-minute results show this week… and the 127-minute results/concert/comedy/Idol-winner show in 9 days…
See you for “judges’ choice/singers’ choice” week tomorrow night…
