The polls just opened here in Virginia. So I got up at 5:45 am to go over to my polling place. Now look at the time of this post.
The line at my local high school and polling place was easily 150-200 people deep at 5:55 am. The parking lot, and access to it, was jammed. I have to go to work around 7:30 am… and I didn’t think I’d have enough time this morning to vote and still get to work on time. It’s easily a 90-minute, and probably longer (knowing how inept our poll workers are in my district), wait.
Fortunately, I have the time to stand in line after work. It may be several hours, but it’ll be worth the wait.
Wow. Just wow.
