Fourth

For anyone who wanted to see the “last” Fourth of July fireworks show at the Diamond in Richmond, it was a long night.

After last year’s 1 AM fireworks event, the Richmond Braves changed the start time for this year’s holiday game to 6 PM.

Well, “6 PM (weather permitting)”.  The weather didn’t permit.  It rained just before gametime, pushing the start to 6:25 PM.  Then the game dragged on… the Braves tied it with 3 runs in the 9th… and finally lost the game in the 14th inning… at 10:55 PM.

The fireworks finally started around 11:20 PM and ran for 30 minutes.

So much for an early start… 🙂 but at least they got the fireworks in.  And I really can’t complain — I watched them from a free vantage point — the parking deck at my office. 🙂
