Live, from New York, SNL sinks even lower

Who thought that opening tonight’s SNL with Steve Carell doing a 4-minute sketch, in which the joke is having Carell read every bad prank-the-guy-doing-the-pages “Dick Hertz” name (as the headmaster of a school for the dubiously-named), was the best use of NBC’s top comedy star?

It’s time that NBC either get funny writers or put SNL out of its misery.
