A few words on Don Imus…

…who I listened to occasionally back in New York in the ’70’s and ’80’s, and who I checked in on occasionally on MSNBC.

It’s a shame, really.  It’s a shame he’s going to lose his job for the racist and sexist comments he made last week.

It’s a shame, because he really should have lost his job a long time ago because the show was downright bloody AWFUL.

Instead of being remembered as someone who hung on too long and was let go because he was old, foolish, out-of-date, and irrelevant… he’s going to be remembered as a martyr to political correctness.  He’ll be able to make money telling similar right-wing dinosaurs that he was sacrificed by NBC and CBS because they’re all biased against him.

Instead of time passing him by, he gets to relive it over and over again.  The dinosaur roars on.

And that’s the shame of it all.
