Kickers Win!

No, I didn’t billboard this beforehand and I should have. 🙂

Richmond has a professional sports champion for the first time since 1995.

The USL Second Division championship arrived in Richmond tonight as the Kickers defeated Charlotte Eagles 2-1 in front of a decent crowd (3500-4000) at U of R City Stadium.

There’s something about being in the home crowd for a championship win that’s like no other feeling a sports fan can have.  It was a blast.  Sorry you missed it. 🙂

If you’re even a casual soccer fan, you can make it a championship party when our USLSD champs take on the team favored to win the MLS title in a friendly match Wednesday night at 7 at U of R — Kickers vs DC United (with Freddy Adu and the DCU top 11 set to play at least 45 minutes)…

And, of course, I’ll see you tomorrow on the radio. 🙂
