This is what happens when I have too much time on my hands…

While I muddle through a blah day… I’m going to steal a line from the T-D’s Jerry Lindquist… “heard, seen, not always believed”…

– One of my MySpace friends (and a former colleague at That Place), David Patton, has apparently continued his rise to World Domination… he’s moved into the front office at Second City Chicago, from what I hear… funny… That Place couldn’t figure out how to use his talents… yet one of the biggest comedy companies in the world can… upward mobility is a wonderful thing… best of luck, David… don’t forget us back in Richmond when you’re rich and famous…

– Speaking of That Place, that bastion of family-friendly comedy, it’s good to see they’ve booked a comedy troupe advertising itself as “raunchy, offensive, [and] morally repellent”. Consistency — it’s just a word in the dictionary between Conceit and Contempt.

– Other comedic notes from some time netsurfing tonight…

— You may recall I had a lot of good things to say about a local production of “Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” earlier this year… word is that Michael, Fred, and Stephen are bringing it back this fall… probably at Petersburg’s Sycamore Rouge… sounds good from here…
— And the loons responsible for the script of “Complete Works” are, themselves, coming to Richmond with their latest shrunken craziness, “Complete Hollywood (Abridged)”… U of R Modlin Center, Oct. 20-21… I think I’ll be checking this out…
— Finally, two of the Whose Line players have gone back on tour… right now, the closest date for the Colin (Mochrie) and Brad (Sherwood) show is January 27, 2007 at the Paramount in Charlottesville for two shows…

Remind me to tell you the story of how I managed to cripple a production studio at Oldies without even being there… once I’m done being mortified about it, that is…

Keep in touch, gang… 🙂
