Well, now there’s something fun to do on Monday nights (for the next 6 weeks, at least)… you can TiVo “The Bachelor”… Monday Night Football’s over for the season… there are no excuses.
Go to the Richmond Funny Bone and see Shakespeare like you never saw him before…
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is a roughly 90-minute romp through everything Shakespeare — even the sonnets — but nothing like ol’ Will really expected. It is hysterically funny, well worth giving up another Monday night at home for, and I’m not just saying that because I know two of the three performers. 🙂
I don’t want to spoil it for you (it’s abridged, you don’t want me to ruin the surprise at which parts actually survive, do you?)… but there’s enough pop culture, historical, musical, and literary references mixed into the Shakespeare that there’s something for everyone. And — I’ll repeat myself here — it’s hysterical. And historical. But mostly hysterical.
Monday nights through late March at the Richmond Funny Bone. Showtime is 8pm, tickets are $12 in advance or $14 at the door, and it’s 18 & up.
Get thee to the funny. 🙂
Otherwise, it looks like I’ve got myself set up for a really busy week… I’ll be at the Siegel Center for VCU games Thursday and Saturday (I’ll be engineering Saturday’s homecoming game for the VCU Radio Network, so watch the game on ESPN2 with the TV sound turned down and Oldies 107.3 turned up)… checking out “Greetings!” at CAT on Friday… and maybe hitting a wrestling show or two (Richmond Lucha Libre at Alley Katz Saturday, VCW in Newport News Sunday)… and, of course, doing the usual work things… I like being busy… it’s better than sitting home watching bad television… 🙂
